Mercedes-Benz auction in Stuttgart 2014

2014 Drive-My

The Mercedes-Benz auction. Bonhams is hosting a very special Mercedes-Benz auction at the car manufacturer’s museum in Stuttgart on July 12 2014. The highlight has to be the 1954 300SL Gullwing that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson used for reconnaissance work before their victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia. Prior to that, the car was displayed by Mercedes-Benz at the 1954 Paris Salon de I’Automobile exhibition, and appeared at the London Motor Show the following year. The car was sold by Mercedes-Benz GB to HW Motors Ltd in Surrey before being snapped up by Peter Woozley who raced the 300SL Gullwing at club level.

Also up for grabs is a 1965 W100 600 Pullman reputedly used by the leadership of the People’s Republic of China, while a 1913 Mercedes 14/30hp Military Truck and 1997 SLK racing car illustrate the auction’s diversity. See bonhams.com for more details.
