Ducati brought in the Scrambler 800 in 2014, and since then the motorcycle has registered sales of more than 55,000 units. Although the middle-weight Scrambler has done well globally, it has always lacked in terms of technology. But that has now changed with the refreshed 2019 Scrambler.
Ducati recently launched the Scrambler 1100, and it comes loaded with technology. The biggest highlight is, without a doubt, the addition of the Bosch-sourced cornering Antilock Braking System. Just like on the bigger Scrambler, this system makes use of multiple sensors to observe the lean and apply braking force accordingly. This system reduces the possibility of the rear tyre losing grip under heavy braking or when a rider erroneously hits the rear brake midway into a corner. Other changes to the motorcycle include LED lighting all around – new headlight with Daytime Running Lights and LED turn signals. The instrumentation has also been updated, which now gets a fuel gauge as well. To make the ride experience in the urban setup much easier, Ducati has fitted it with a hydraulic clutch with an adjustable lever. The ergonomics have changed too – handlebars are now taller and wider for a more upright seating posture. There’s also a new flat seat and revised suspension geometry. At the heart, the engine is likely to be the same 803cc L-twin motor that makes 73,9bhp and 68Nm.
