The latest 3.0-litre 400hp petrol engine is now available for the Range Rover, delivering clean and efficient technology for customers. With the introduction of an electric supercharger, which coordinates with the twin-scroll turbocharger to virtually eliminate turbo lag, it spools up in 0.5 seconds up to 6500rpm. This means the six-cylinder engine provides an impressive torque response, up to 406 lb-ft in fact.


These features, underpinned by the latest Ingenium petrol engine, form part of a Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) powertrain designed to bring enhanced efficiency to the range with fuel economy of 30.4 mpg (9.3 L/100km) and CO2 emissions of 212 g/km* (NEDC equivalent combined). It is the latest step taken by Jaguar Land Rover to ensure it offers an electrified option on all new models from 2020.

Based around a new start-stop system, the engine is paired with an electric motor that can harvest energy through deceleration and store it in a 48 volt battery. This energy can then be redeployed through torque-assist, reducing CO2 emissions and the engine’s work load.

With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto improving smartphone connectivity, and the latest personalisation options, smarter tech and comfort features, the P400 MHEV option on the Range Rover Sport is an attractive proposition but you’ll need to have £83,655 burning a hole in your back pocket.
