Rare Porsche 356A Carrera Speedster RHD to light up Salon Privé

The last of only four right-hand- drive Porsche 356A Carrera Speedsters will star in a special 70th anniversary Porsche concours at Blenhiem Palace on Saturday September 1, as part of the prestigious Salon Privé event.

Just 152 of these quad-cam sports cars were sold in period, with right-hand-drive cars being the rarest. This example was restored in 2014 and has since won several awards overseas, but this will be its first British concours appearance. It will be one of 50 cars vying for silverware, with the cars judged by a panel of 11 experts.

Known as Concours Masters Celebrates 70 Years of Porsche, it will be the second of two concours competitions at Salon Privé, with the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance taking place on Thursday August 30. Run over three days from August 30 – September 1, the event itself is marketed as the “most luxurious of garden parties,” and is said to feature the finest collection of supercars, hypercars and classic cars, as well as the glamorous Boodles Ladies’ Day on the Friday.
