New dates for 2019 Porsche 911 2.0L Cup season announced

Two new venues added after successful maiden season of early 911 racing

After a hugely successful debut campaign, Peter Auto has announced the calendar for season two of the 2.0L Cup. 2018 saw up to 36 pre-1966 Porsche 911s take to the starting line-up of four race tracks around Europe in this special one-make classic series, which was awarded the title of Race Series of the Year at the 8th International Historic Motor Racing Awards.

For 2019 two additional circuits – the Hungaroring and Monza – have been added to the line-up of this unique racing series, which includes Spa and Paul Ricard. The first round takes place in Barcelona on 5 to 7 April 2019.

It is hoped the 2.0L Cup will have more than 40 cars racing for much of its second season, with this year’s widespread success attracting additional interest. There will only be minor tweaks to the regulations adopted for the series’ maiden year, which has been praised for its more gentlemanly approach to competitive racing compared to other events. It had been hoped a British leg would be introduced to the calendar for the 2019 season, but the series will now visit Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Spain and France instead.
