Joining the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X, the Mercedes-Benz EQC is yet another high-end luxury performance electric SUV and the first of the Mercedes-Benz EQ models.
All-wheel drive is produced by twin motors (one front, one rear) outputting 408hp – the same as the e-tron. The 650kg, 80kWh lithium-ion battery should provide around 280 miles range (NEDC). Maximum charge rate is 110kW, ensuring similar recharge times to its competitors with 10-80% charge in 40 minutes. Unique to the EQC is an update navigation system that can plot a route based on rapid charge point locations.
The car will be available for sale in 2019, ahead of Mercedes-Benz’s entry into the 2019-2020 Formula E season.
