Sales of electrified BMW Group vehicles hit at all-time high towards the end of 2019…


In November 2019 sales of BMW Group electrified models reached a new all-time high. The Group sold 17,480 electrified vehicles, 13,590 of those being plug-in hybrid models – a 20.3 percent increase. The BMW i brand continued its upward sales trend, 38,497 units of i3 and i8 were sold (an 18.0 percent increase). Meanwhile sales of the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 Plug-in Hybrid climbed almost 50 percent in November.

BMW says that the news reflects customer interest in electrified mobility, it is supporting the trend by committing to installing more than 4,100 charging points for electrified cars at locations across Germany by 2021, as an e-mobility pioneer, BMW Group aims to have one million electrified vehicles on the roads by the end of 2021. Furthermore, BMW Group says that a quarter of its vehicles sold in Europe will be electrified by 2021, it predicts that this will grow to reach a third in 2025 and half in 2030. The BMW Group also plans to offer 25 electrified models by 2023 – more than half will be fully electric.
