Bulletin OWNERS CLUB EVENTS

Now that it’s the height of mid-summer, the season is in full swing for the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain. Already this year, many hundreds of members have created memories of a lifetime with social and motorsport events, along with drives out into the country.

As I write, the world’s biggest classic car event is fast approaching. The Silverstone Classic runs from Friday July 26 to Sunday 28 and, among the dozens of clubs and thousands of cars taking part, right in the middle of it all will be the Ferrari Owners’ Club with its 150-strong display of cars spanning more than half a century. The club would love to see you there, so if you’re going, be sure to say hello.

The Silverstone Classic falls slap bang in the middle of a packed run of events that starts in March and doesn’t end until November. As reported in the last issue of Enzo, the club’s two dozen area groups are busy all year round, but the national season is slightly shorter. This year the club is supporting all four rounds of the Ferrari Challenge UK series, with hospitality and rounds of its own Pirelli Ferrari formula classic racing series.

While anybody can go to these races and to the Silverstone Classic, many club events are exclusively for members. Just a few of the highlights of 2019 include a day with Ferrari dealer Meridien Modena, a Ferrari-only picnic at the exclusive Madresfield Court in Worcestershire, and the annual Summer Garden Party in Buckinghamshire. Incorporating the annual concours, this one-day event sees hundreds of members enjoy the biggest social gathering of the year, with sumptuous food and excellent music in luxurious surroundings.

However, arguably better than all of these things is the pair of factory tours that the club runs in October, exclusively for members. Always a sell-out, these three-day trips take in fabulous venues around Maranello, as well as the factory and Ferrari museums.
