2019 McLaren 600LT

Longer, lighter and packing more punch than the 570S upon which it’s based, the 600LT has become the new halo model in McLaren’s Sport Series range and the fourth chapter in the company’s Long Tail story.

LONGER, LEANER

In a nod to the 675LT, the new McLaren’s bodywork, with its fixed rear spoiler and extensions to the front splitter and rear diffuser, reflects a longer profile that stretches the car by 74 mm over its 570S peer. Extensive use of carbon-fibre in the construction of its bodyshell also trims 95 kg from the 570S’ mass.

SHARPENED EDGE

The new model features the forged aluminium double-wishbone suspension and lightweight braking system from the second-generation McLaren Super Series, along with bespoke Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres. Quicker steering, sharpened throttle and brake responses, plus “significantly firmer” engine mounts, are part of the package.

UPPING THE V8 ANTE

McLaren’s 3,8-litre biturbo V8 has been tuned to produce 441 kW and 620 N.m and is plumbed into a short set of exhausts posted on the rear deck. McLaren has been tightlipped regarding performance, but it’s safe to say it will eclipse the 570S’s 3,2-second 0-100 km/h time and 328 km/h top speed.
