Brit-built Astra uncovered. Pictures of the seventh generation Astra have been revealed by Vauxhall, 36 years after the first medium-sized hatchback made an appearance. And like all previous incarnations of the Astra, it will be built here in the UK at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port factory on Merseyside.
2019 Vauxhall Corsa GSi prices announced tasty cost options available. Arriving in showrooms shortly after this magazine lands on newsstands, the new Corsa GSi will be available to buy for £18,995 on the road. Standard specification includes Seventeen-inch alloy wheels, a model-specific roof spoiler, a sports front grille, a front air dam and side skirts.
Vauxhall confirms electric Corsa for 2020 and future Hybrids. Under new ownership by PSA Group and the leadership of recently appointed CEO Michael Lohscheller, Vauxhall (and Opel) have confirmed its next-gen Corsa model will have an electric model due in 2020. In addition, a hybrid version of the company’s Grandland X crossover and a further two “electrified” models by 2020 and that all passenger model lines will be electrified by 2024.

Vauxhall’s new Vivaro has just been revealed, heralding a bright future for the manufacturer’s Luton plant. Ready to land in dealer showrooms this summer, the third-gen cargo carrier is based on a state-of-the-art platform and available in two lengths (4.95m and 5.30m). Proving Vauxhall’s current marketing slogan, British Brand since 1903, runs more than skindeep, two of the company’s oldest vehicles – one of which was built in the year Vauxhall was founded as a car manufacturer – recently took to the road for the annual Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.
Vauxhall has given its flagship Insignia family car a facelift for 2020, adding sparkle to its exterior and freshening up its interior technology. New headlights also feature, lighting up the way ahead without dazzling other road users. The latest Insignia is available to order next month, with the first customer deliveries expected in May.
Vauxhall has given us a peek under the covers of the GT X Experimental concept car, providing a glimpse of a sharp new nose and arresting two-tone paintwork. It helps cement the mid-2020s move towards a new Vauxhall family face referred to as “Vauxhall Compass”, that gets its name from the prominent horizontal and vertical lines that intersect the front Griffin badge. This puts the logo at the heart of the design, flanked by new wing-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL).

Dubbed 20:20S, the design philosophy will embrace Vauxhall’s core values – “British, Ingenious, Progressive and Approachable” and provides a template for the design of its upcoming models.

Vauxhall/Opel Zafira Fires Spark Criminal Investigation. A criminal investigation is now underway into fires affecting 161 Vauxhall Zafira B models built between 2005 and 2014, brought by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). In 2017, a Transport Committee report concluded that Vauxhall had been too slow to begin a full investigation into the fires and had shown “a reckless disregard for safety”. Vauxhall was first made aware of a Zafira catching fire in 2009, but an investigation didn’t begin until August 2015, with a second recall taking place in 2016.
