We’ve already had a sneak peek at Cadillac’s newest sedan, but at NYIAS the CT5 was on display for the world to see. Boasting a semi-fastback roofline, the CT5 is essentially a baby brother to the flagship CT6 and will be offered with a version of the Super Cruise hands-free driver-assist feature found on that car.
At launch, the CT5 will be offered in three trim levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, with a Platinum package offered on the Premium Luxury and Sport. Two engines will be offered, a standard 2.0-litre twin scroll turbocharged four-cylinder with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 available on the Premium Luxury and Sport. A 10-speed automatic transmission is teamed with both engines. Using a version of Cadillac’s latest rear-wheel drive architecture, the CT5 will feature an AWD option and also incorporates features such as Adaptive Remote Start and hands-free decklid release.
It also boasts the latest version of the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system as well as four distinct customer selectable drive modes – Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice and My Mode, designed to tailor everything from transmission shift points to front/ rear torque split*, steering and brake feel to deliver optimum performance and road holding depending on conditions and driver requirements.
Helping the cause are available 18-inch Michelin self seal and 19-inch run-flat tyres designed to allow drivers extra protection against punctures.
