New 2020 and renewed Zagato style revealed

First look at Gaydon’s big-bucks pairing of new DBS GT Zagato and latest DB4 continuation

NEW (AND RENEWED) ZAGATO STYLE REVEALED

Aston Martin has finally revealed what its £6-million DBZ Centenary Collection will look like. While there are no prizes for guessing the appearance of the latest DB4 GT Zagato continuation (it’s Sanction 4 by our reckoning), the renderings of the DBS GT Zagato give clear indication of a dramatic new design echoing Zagato’s trademark details.

As first described in Drive-My, the new car is based on a DBS Superleggera but evokes such legendary DB4 GTZ design language as the double-bubble roof. It will be built at Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ, limited to 19 examples, and each paired with the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation to celebrate 100 years of Zagato.

Design chief Marek Reichman said: ‘In the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation we have one of the world’s most beautiful and instantly recognisable pieces of car design. Creating a car fit to stand alongside it was a formidable challenge, but we had a great motivation.’

The DBS GT Zagato will be available only as part of a set with the new DB4 GT Zagato Continuation – the first of which is now in-build at Newport Pagnell. Expect deliveries late next year for the DB4 and late 2020 for the DBS.
