Renowned performance parts manufacturer, Forge Motorsport, has revealed details of a new atmospheric dump valve for the superb Honda Civic FK8 Type R. A development of Forge’s offering for the FK2, each FK8 kit includes a blanking plate, an array of silicone hoses, a plastic hose coupler, a brass T-piece, clamps and a handful of cable ties to hold everything in place. Installation involves the removal of the OEM diverter valve (a feat made possible by the aforementioned blanking plate).
Various power levels can be accommodated by simply switching the spring strength in the new dump valve, thereby enabling higher boost pressure should the host Honda be mapped at a later date. In fact, springs rated at more than 30psi can be optioned, although the standard valve features Forge’s famous ‘yellow’ spring designed for boost pressure between 15psi and 23psi.
