Toyota Corolla Altis launched. Toyota has launched the latest version of the Toyota Corolla Altis in India. Replacing the old model, the new Corolla is the 11th generation of the car, which was first introduced almost 50 years ago in 1966. Featuring a new design and platform, one of the biggest advantages of the new car is the increased room in the rear seat. Lengthened by 100mm, the new platform ensures that passengers sitting in the back get ample room.
And responding to customer feedback, Toyota has increased the equipment count on its models with standard features now including LED headlamps, 16″ alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, and touchscreen multimedia system with satellite navigation amongst others. However, the engines available in the Corolla remains the same, with the petrol being the 1.8-liter unit carried over from the last-gen car, while the 1.4-liter engine does the diesel duties.
As far as the gearbox is concerned, the diesel engine comes mated only with a 6-speed manual, whereas the petrol offers a choice between a 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox. The pricing for the Corolla has also been kept very competitive, with the petrol and diesel models starting at ‘11.99 lakhs and 13.07 lakhs respectively.
