Four seat, two door Coupe body manufactured in glass reinforced polyester resin moulded in four sections and bonded along the waistline. Aerodynamicalfy developed body features extended wheel arches, lengthened passenger section and separate boot area with raised roofline. This is combined with a plastic coated multi tubular steel backbone spaceframe chassis with outriggers. Independent wishbone suspension on coil springs, and telescopic shock absorbers with variable rate limited slip differential. Aluminium alloy road wheels are fitted with the latest Bridgestone RE71 low profile tyres Laminated Sundym front screen with touahened Sundym door, side and rear windows provide 85% all round vision. Strategically designed internal body crumple zones protect front and rear portions of the vehicle. Side intrusion beams located within the door structures conform to all current safety legislation. Individual front seats with fore, aft and tilt movements are combined with adjustable head restraints. Rear seats are moulded into the bodyshell and are of fixed position. Half English leather upholstery with ambia is standard In a wide variety of colours, with complete Connolly English leather trim available in any shade as an option Contrasting deep pile carpet complements the internal colour chosen Solid polished walnut dashboard houses full instrumentation of speedometer, electric tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature and fuel gauges along with voltmeter and quartz clock. Other standard equipment includes; - electric operated windows, twin electric door mirrors, stereo radio cassette player, tinted glass fully adjustable steering column with small diameter leather trimmed steering wheel and infra red remote control central door locking security system A warning light cluster informs on handbrake, low fluid levels, ignition, oil pressure and temperature conditions with provision for extra facilities A vanity mirror is housed in the passenger sunvisor with cigar lighter and ashtray located in the centre console.



Front mounted driving the rear wheels. Vee slanted 8 cylinder with total capacity of 4228 cc 258 cu. in. Bore: 93.5 mm 3.68 in. Stroke: 77.0 mm 3.03 in. High performance Cosworth pistons, low lift camshaft, overhead valves with uprated valve springs, hydraulic tappets and five bearing steel crankshaft. Gas flowed cylinder head with 9.75:1 compression ratio. Tubular exhaust manifolds with large bore free flow system, tuned for maximum torque. Balanced and blueprinted assembly. Thermostatically controlled oil cooler with uprated higher capacity oil pump and large capacity oil sump. Modified electronic ignition system Pressurised high capacity cooling system with twin electric cooling fans.

Fuel System

Induction is by TVR designed and modified electronic fuel injection. Recalibrated control unit, modified air flow meter and rejetted injectors combine with fuel pressure regulator to control revised fuelling paths A single high pressure electric fuel pump is utilised in conjunction with anti surge pots and filters. Single fuel tank is located over the rear axle with a total capacity of 18 0 gallons (82 litres).


Five speed manual gearbox with heavy duty, hydraulic operated single dry plate diaphragm clutch is standard. Gear ratios: 1st 3.32:1. 2nd 2 09:1. 3rd 1 40:1. 4th 1.00:1, 5th 0.792:1. Reverse 3.43:1. Final Dnve Ratio 3.06:1 vanable rate limited slip differential producing 30.86 per 1000 rpm.

An all steel multi tubular backbone chassis with outriggers protected with an epoxy coating giving complete corrosion resistance. The separate chassis concept ensures that loads from the all independent suspension are fed into a structure that is fully insulated by "silent block' mountings from the main bodyshell. Protection for occupants is provided by well designed front, rear and side intrusion beams to conform to all legislative requirements Suspension is independent all round. Front is by upper wishbone, stabilised lower lever, coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers and a forward running anti roll bar Rear suspension is by a four point mounted lower fabricated wishbone and hub carrier with torque reaction arm. Fixed length driveshafts act as the upper link with coil springs and Bilstein gas filled telescopic shock absorbers, adjustable for ride height.

This all runs on 15" (380 mm) x 8 1/2 J diameter five spoke aluminium alloy five stud wheels with the latest Bridgestone RE71 225 50 VR15 low profile tyres. As a customer option 245 45 VR16 Bridgestone RE71's can be fitted with 16" (406 mm) x 9 J split rim aluminium alloy road wheels. The braking system is servo assisted all round with discs operated through separate front and rear circuits from a tandem master cylinder combined with a “G" valve for the rear system. Front discs are ventilated with a 10.6” (269 mm) diameter uprated calipers with larger pistons. The rear brakes are inboard with a 10.9” (277 mm) diamater with a separate caliper for the cable operated handbrake Asbestos free high performance brake pads are fitted all round.


Power assisted steering with rack and pinion. Collapsible steering column with full range of fore and aft adjustment. This combines with a leather trimmed 14“ diameter steering wheel giving a turning circle of 31.5" (9.59 m) with 3.0 turns lock to lock.


A 12 volt negative earth fully fused system is used with a comprehensive fuse and relay board. A high rate 60 amp hour battery and 65 amp alternator are standard and the starter motor is pre engaged. Two H4 Halogen headlights are housed in an electrically operated pod allied with a fail safe back up system Twin driving lights are recessed into the front of the vehicle along with parking and indicator lights Parking, reverse, indicator, stop and high intensity fog lamps are located at the rear of the car. A three pint, electrically operated windscreen washer is located under the forward opening bonnet. A two speed, single arm with delay facility wiper ensures that the stylishly raked front screen is kept clean. Twin interior courtesy lights and low level instrument illumination provide night time vision. Twin electric door mirrors, electric operated windows and electric boot release are fitted as standard.

Heating and Ventilation

A very comprehensive heating and ventilation system is fitted to all TVR's Heating is controlled by the current of air flow through an internal matrix and this flow is maintained by a rotating temperature selector located on the lower fascia panel This in turn is boosted by a two speed fan Fresh cool air can be admitted to the cabin by twin swivel vents mounted in the centre of the fascia and stale air extracted by vents in the lower passenger door A complete air conditioning system can be fitted to the vehicle as a customer option.


An Alpine LW MW FM stereo radio cassette player is fitted as standard. This plays through 20 watt speakers mounted just behind the seats in the trim panels Reception is transmitted via an automatically operated electric aerial.
