Range Rover Sport gets plug-in power. Badged P400e, the new Range Rover Sport PHEV combines a 300hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with an 85kW electric motor. The resulting 404hp total available power, 640Nm of combined torque and four-wheel drive system is enough to deliver 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 137mph.
Fuel economy is 101mpg, emitting 64g/km CO2 and the P400e has an electric range of 31 miles (NEDC figures). Despite the electrified powertrain, Land Rover says the all-terrain capability is uncompromised and, of course, allows entry into restricted air quality zones. From 2020 all new Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will have an electrification option, the company confirmed.
