The logic of a hugely complex and expensive mega-enduro bike might be hard to justify, but you can’t fault how amazingly effective Ducati’s Multistrada Enduro is. And the evidence suggests the new 2019 model has taken a big step forward. Now boasting the 156bhp 1262cc DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine, the new Enduro will be able to punch 85% of its torque to the back wheel at just 3500rpm. In performance terms, it’s got 18% more shove at 5500rpm than its 1198cc predecessor. This longer stroke engine also breathes better with an almost completely new exhaust system that nestles under the limits for Euro4, and presumably it’ll pass the imminent Euro5 regs too.
It is often the case with some of these new hypercars that they get announced, displayed at glitzy motor shows or prestigious events and then disappear into the clutches of wealthy investors, and us mere mortals being lucky if we ever see them again. It’s refreshing, therefore, to hear that the first production McLaren Senna, chassis number 001, bought by London businessman David Kyte, was taken by the owner on a road trip to Circuit Paul Ricard. This exclusive 1400km journey was something of a McLaren convoy, as joining David were three more company Sennas (for the international launch) a McLaren 720S and a McLaren 600LT. Included in the driver line-up was Ayrton Senna’s nephew (and McLaren brand ambassador) Bruno Senna.

With the latest iteration of the off-road Raptor sporting Ford’s 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine, it was only a matter of time before it found its way into the uptown Limited variant. In the Limited, the twin-turbocharged, direct injected EcoBoost is rated at 450hp and 510ft-lb of torque – enough to yank Redwoods from the ground and also claim the spot as the most powerful light duty pick-up in North America.

It’s official. Kia’s first car for India will be a Creta-sized compact-SUV wearing clothes very similar to the SP2 concept shown at the Auto Expo. It’s a sweet spot to be in. The Creta clocks nearly 10,000 units a month, demand for SUVs is only going up and it’s the perfect segment to showcase what brand Kia represents (more style overlaid on ever improving Korean technology). But what next? That’s the big question at Kia’s newly setup Indian operations and this might be it.

Previously in MG Enthusiast we have covered the story of a facelift for the MG GS which was initially destined only for Chinese sales. As MG Motor UK’s Sales Director Daniel Gregorious has confirmed (see our exclusive interview this month on Drive-My), the original MG GS was only homologated to a level that limited sales in the UK to no more than 1000 per year. Clearly the same constraints do not operate elsewhere, and the facelifted GS has gone on to sell well in China, benefiting from a frankly far superior interior to the original version. The facelift has now been launched in the Middle East too, where it is being described as the MG GS 2019.
The Mitsubishi L200 will have tough new looks when it arrives in 2019, giving it the visual might to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ford Ranger, Mercedes-Benz X-Class and Volkswagen Amarok.
