New D Class Jaguar XE detail specifications

XE specifications revealed in Paris. More details of Jaguar’s new compact saloon, the XE, were revealed at its international debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. They included the car’s five trim levels, equipment, engines and prices.

The all-new XE is part of Jaguar Land Rover’s growth phase and is the first to use the high-tech Ingenium engine – a family of ultra-low-emission, four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines from the new Engine Manufacturing Centre, in the West Midlands.

The XE’s five trim levels are:

SE: The entry-level to the XE range, the SE model features high-quality cloth seats, a gloss black treatment for the door trim finishers and the signature Riva Hoop sweeping above the instrument panel. Standard equipment includes satellite navigation, cruise control, 17in alloy wheels, DAB digital radio and multifunction soft-grain leather steering wheel.

Prestige: Heated front seats featuring Taurus leather upholstery with contrasting stitching delivers a modern, progressive luxury interior, complete with Phosphor Blue ambient lighting. Inserts on the airconditioned seat option are perforated, and the Riva Hoop and door finishers are finished in brushed aluminium.

Portfolio: The most luxurious XE model, Portfolio offers a wide range of colour options for the premium soft-grain Windsor leather with herringbone perforations. The instrument panel features split upper and lower coverings in two colours, complete with colour-keyed twin-needle stitching for a truly bespoke feel. The aluminium trim has an embossed surface finish. Additional equipment on Portfolio models includes Meridian audio system, 10-way electric front seats, Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED signature daytime running lights (DRLs) and 18in alloy wheels (except on 163PS engines).

R-Sport: The R-Sport’s heated sports seats are trimmed with perforated Taurus leather, the Riva Hoop and door finishers are in etched aluminium, and the tread plates and sports steering wheel feature R-Sport branding. The exterior is enhanced by a subtle rear spoiler, and also chrome treatment for the side power vents. Sports suspension delivers even better handling. Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED signature DRLs, gloss black window surrounds and two-tone 18in alloy wheels (except on 163PS models) complete its sporty exterior looks.

S: The most performance-orientated XE model features a race-inspired interior. The heated, perforated Taurus leather seats, tread plates and leather sports steering wheel carry the S logo. Dark Hex aluminium graces the door finishers and the Riva Hoop, while the centre console is gloss black. The front bumper’s enlarged air intakes hint at the performance potential of the supercharged V6 engine. Side sill extensions, rear spoiler, gloss black rear valance, red brake calipers, Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED signature DRLs, and 19in alloy wheels complete the exterior package. The S model also benefits from luxuries such as a Meridian audio system, keyless entry and a power-operated boot lid.
