2021 Audi A3 Sportback 8Y

Take a look at the all-new 2021 Audi A3 Sportback, the fourth generation of Audi’s premium hatchback. The car was due to be unveiled at the 2020 Geneva motor show, but after the Swiss government banned gatherings of 1,000 people or more (due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus), the show was cancelled. So, instead it was unveiled online.

A3 SPORTBACK REVEALED

Externally, much like most of the newer Audi range, it features sharper looks and sportier arches making it slightly wider than its predecessor length wise it remains unchanged. The sharper, sleeker look continues inside with a premium futuristic looking dashboard that features a 10.1inch touchscreen, large digital driver display and the normal high quality spec interior Audi’s are famed for.

The model will be launched with two engine versions, both with front-wheel drive: a 1.5 TFSI manual with 148bhp and a 2.0 TDI that outputs similar as an S tronic. In connection with this dualclutch transmission, the A3 Sportback is fitted as standard with steering wheel paddles. Nice!

Shortly after the market launch, a second version of the 1.5 TFSI with a mild hybrid system (MHEV) will follow. Audi will gradually expand the offering by adding further TDI and TFSI engine versions, including some with quattro drive, as well as a plugin hybrid in two power levels.

The 2021 Audi A3 Sportback 8Y will be available in five-door Sportback spec only and is expected to hit the roads this May, with Technik, Sport, S line, Edition 1 and Vorsprung specifications available. Fingers crossed for more news on the S3 and RS3 variants soon!

Large digital displays take centre stage. Wider and more agressive, grrrr!
