Dodge applies wild Widebody treatment to four-door 527kW brute
In case the standard 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat wasn’t wild enough, it is now available in Widebody guise. The engine remains the same, but anyone who deems a 527kW/881Nm 6.2-litre supercharged V8 deficient probably needs to seek professional help.
The Widebody instead focuses on putting that power to the ground, and Dodge applies wild Widebody treatment to four-door 527kW brute does so nicely, with the 0-60mph (0-97km/h) sprint claimed to take just 3.6sec and the quarter mile crushed in 10.96sec on the way to a 316km/h v-max.
Better yet, the fat flares that add almost nine centimetres to the Charger’s width provide room for 20 by 11.0-inch wheels wearing 305/35 Pirelli tyres, behind which sit Brembo six-piston calipers clamping 390mm two-piece rotors. Combined with stiffer springs, larger sway bars and revised adaptive dampers, Dodge claims the Widebody is 2.1sec quicker around a 3.4km circuit than a standard Charger Hellcat. Now we just need to figure out a way to get this monster Down Under for a full road test.
