Your gran’s Bluebird… turbocharged!

Here’s something rarer than most Ferraris – the Nissan Bluebird 1.8 Turbo Executive, one of just seven believed to be still running. It’s up for grabs with Anglia Car Auctions at its June 15 sale.

Though the Bluebird is more often associated with elderly motoring, the Turbo’s forced induction pushes the CA18ET SOHC four-pot to 135bhp and gives a 0-60mph time of 8.6 seconds. Not bad for 1980 when the model was first released, and still respectable when this car, a 1988 model, rolled off the forecourt. The engine could also be found in the Nissan 200SX Turbo/Silvia S12 and the Reliant Scimitar. Details of this particular car were scarce as we went to press, but it is MoT’d until 2020.
