Audi launches 591bhp flagship SUV capable of 190mph, here’s what you need to know…
- THE NUMBERS
Audi’s fastest most powerful SUV yet will be propelled by a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo TFSI direct-injection petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It’ll get you from 0-62mph in 3.8secs and to 124mph in 13.7 seconds. The RS Q8 packs 591bhp and 590lb-ft, the same as the RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback. Not bad for an SUV eh?
- TOP SPEED
Audi’s newest performance SUV has a limited top speed of 155mph. Want more? Choose the optional dynamic package and you can raise it to 189.5mph, because who doesn’t need the option of driving nearly 190mph after dropping the kids off to school?
- KING OF THE RING
The RS Q8 now holds the SUV lap record for the Nürburgring circuit, completing its fastest lap in 7 mins 42 secs. In fact, it was so quick around the Green Hell it smashed 7 seconds off the previous SUV lap record set by the Mercedes-AMG’s GLC 63 S in November 2018. Insane!
- WHEELY BIG
As standard you’ll get colossal 10-spoke 22-inch wheels with 295/40-series tyres, the largest ever fitted as standard on a production Audi. Want bigger? The RS Q8 can also be ordered with optional 23-inch 5 Y-spoke rotor design wheels, that are exclusive to the RS Q8. Behind the large wheels is an RS brake system with internally vented composite discs, 420mm up front, 370mm at the rear. The 10-inch piston calipers are painted black as standard but are available in red as an option.
