The new BMW 7 Series’ huge take on the signature kidney grille could divide opinion.
MIXED GRILLE
Flanked by slimmer headlamps, the new Seven’s grille is some 40% larger than that of its forebear and joins such visual updates as thinner brakelamps with a bridging chrome strip. All South African 7s will be long-wheelbase models that are 140 mm longer in between axles than the standard variants. The engine line-up is crowned by the 6,6-litre V12 in the M760Li xDrive G12 (430 kW) and is joined by a 4,4-litre V8 (390 kW) in the 750Li G12, along with a host of inline-six petrol and diesel units and a hybrid. The interior, meanwhile, has undergone acoustic improvements and now features BMW’s new Intelligent Personal Assistant, which adjusts everything from mood lighting to music selection via voice commands.
